The kid’s program begins with a time of singing with Miss Nola, our choir director.  We are currently using Buzz, an innovative action packed series that teaches the kids Bible stories & scriptural principles, which they can use in every day situations.  Pre-K & K meet in the church basement.  The rest of kids are in the upstairs rooms with grades 3 & 4 at the top of the stairs, grades 5 & 6 in the middle room and grades 1 & 2 in the east room at the end of the hall.

This year all age groups have been studying the themes God is loving and God is perfect. Here is the five-step approach we use to do this:

1.  We explore new and creative ways to praise God and to pray.

2.  We use Bible Cards to teach a memorable, imaginative lesson. Some times, we act out or illustrate the story, play a game to illustrate a point in the story, listen to a DVD to start our discussion about the lesson, sculpt, solve riddles, make rhymes, or sing.

3. God-Sightings help the kids learn to see God at work in their lives throughout the week.  Here's where we might share experiences or feelings we've had in different situations.  We show the kids how God is at work at home, at school, when they're with friends or while they are playing sports.

4.  The kids get connected using fun, interactive questions that prompt sharing and build relationship.

5.  Last, they decide how to apply the key Bible Point of each week's lesson to their own life.  Then,  they take cards home to encourage them to discuss what they've learned with their parents during the week.

Sunday School season runs from September through mid-May.
